Here at Electrocycle we love elephants and we love our elephant logo!
In co-operation with Knowsley Safari Park , we have chosen to support a terrific project called Space for Giants whose aim is to conserve Kenya’s last free ranging elephant population, and the ecosystem that they inhabit, in partnership with, and for the benefit of, the people of northern Kenya.
Electrocycle & Knowsley Safari Park
Knowsley Safari Park, based within the Merseyside region, works endlessly within fields of
research and support conservation projects around the world. Many of their animals roam freely throughout the Park area while visitors remain in their cars, able to view the magnificence of these animals.
The chairman of Electrocycle David Burton, has a history working with elephants in East Africa
and was motivated to support the Space for Giants project in Kenya in partnership with Knowsley Safari Park. For every tonne of E-waste that we collect a contribution is made to the Space for Giants project. We intend to issue updates on the project and how our money is spent in the future.
Space for Giants
The Space for Giants mission is to conserve Kenya’s last free ranging elephant population and the ecosystem they inhabit in partnership with, and for the benefit of, the people of northern Kenya
The main objective of the program is to enable partner organisations and local people in and around the Laikipia plateau in north-central Kenya to alleviate human-elephant conflict, prevent poaching and create space for elephants.
To reduce human-elephant conflict to tolerable levels in the Laikipia ecosystem & promote elephant-compatible livelihoods amongst the people that live with the elephants in the Laikipia ecosystem
To secure existing refuges and create new refuges for elephants in the Laikipia ecosystem & prevent unsustainable poaching of elephants in the Laikipia ecosystem
